Hold the rope.

Pic of the day 105/365
Ya got me!
Maybe it is in reference to tug of war and acting as a team. You have to hold the rope to win, work together.

I should post one of these signs in the newsroom, if my assumption is correct.
My mind has been elsewhere in recent times and feel as though this will be a grown in trend as the heat comes my way and when my escape becomes ever more solidified.

A quote from today's link.
"
The "retirement" of the buyout brigade has the added benefit of loosening the ugly stranglehold the boomers have over the press. I may be risking self-extermination by advocating wholesale boomer expulsion, but there are just too many of us—especially the older variety—in top slots for journalism's good. The sheer weight of our presence blocks the promotion of the next generation of talented journalists to the most desirable beats."

The good news about newsroom buyouts.

Fresh faces in the newsroom bring a sense of eagerness and excitement that are unparalleled by any amount of incentive. (monetary that is) Day after day of wearing down on those dreams and hopes held by the fresh blood begin to coagulate it into a thick and sticky paste that is resistant to change just becomes another stain on the rug.
After that point, that stain is never expected to change, just be that same old stain, nothing new.
